Favourite children’s books

Favourite children’s books

Reading stories is in my mind one of the best things to do with your children. Engaging one on one in your own little virtual adventure with them ….getting lost in the character’s and the new world’s together. I love it !!!! I think it gives you opportunities to talk ,sometimes opening up discussions about things that are worrying them …or just a chance to giggle together !!!

I asked the kids to pick up a few of their favourites to share with you guys ….some of them look a little tatty around the edges as they have been read again and again ….ALL of them we LOVE xxx

  1. Anything by Julia Donaldson always goes down well here! We also like the Mr Men, Winnie the Pooh, the Lettice books, love Oliver Jeffers, baby likes his ‘that’s not my..’ books, Peepo & The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Just started chapter books with 3yo, so making our way through Roald Dahl now (I loved his books when I was little – still do!) I could go on & on…!

  2. Jessamy loves Julia Donaldson but her favourite is Rumble in the Jungle by by Giles Andreae and David Wojtowycz! She always demands ‘Jungle Jungle’.
My favourites are Hairy Maclary and Miffy but Jess isn’t as keen – I’ll have to brainwash Lottie!
For older kids I do love Roald Dahl and I’m also a huge Malorie Blackman/Jacqueline Wilson fan for 8+ kids – ooh and Michelle Magorian…I could go on and on and on like Jocelyn said!
